I wouldn't be surprised if the new glow around stickies was intentional, with the same purpose as adding the cart outline; to make TF2 more noob friendly.

With all the new 6 year old F2P scrubbies we have who get lost for 4 minutes while trying to get out of the last cap point on pl_upward, recognizing and avoiding a sticky trap is a real undertaking. So now they have attention grabbing beacons attached to them.

Just a little guesswork, but hey.

Even being a glitch, it's stupid and non-important. Consider that Valve has to code a hole system to check if a *sprite* is being rendered through a wall. It's stupid a waste of resources.

I have this glitch using Hammer Editor ALL the time. A 3D model rendered through a sprite gets it glitched, and you don't hear me complaining.
Deal with it.

It's a glitch, it's especially noticable with crit stickies.
They're way way brighter and larger than before (the "illumnating
    effect that is").

Seeing how glitchy the said illumination is, it's probably
unintended. It really hampers the trapmaking ability of
            stickies.
