Where did you find these appids?
Using 227040 gives me srcds.exe, steam.dll and dedicated.dll, but alas,
you can't just drop them into an existing srcds install. If you do and
try to run the server, you get "Failed to load the launcher DLL: The
specififed procedure could not be found.". I suspect there is more to
the beta than just those three files. Either that or the current beta is
buggy and doesn't run, which is also possible.
So I did a binary file by file comparison of the server files to the
beta client files. The client has a lot of game content that the server
doesn't have, and it doesn't have steam.dll and dedicated.dll. The only
files the server has that the client doesn't have seems to be the config
files and steam.dll and dedicated.dll and srcds.exe.
So idk what the problem here is - I could be easily convinced that the
current beta is either buggy and doesn't run, or there are more files
that should be there that don't download with the beta.
Anyone have a beta l4d2 server that runs?
