You have to install the Client on your Server. You have to use a account, which owns l4d2.
Example with Didroles-Updatetool: ~/updaters/updatetool/UpdateTool.sh -command update -game 223530 -dir /home/user/yourserver -username YourAccount -password XXXX -steam_guard_code XXXX Aftter this, you need the serverbinaries for your server: ~/updaters/updatetool/UpdateTool.sh -command update -game 227050 -dir /home/user/yourserver 2013/6/16 Robert Whelan <[email protected]> > http://steamdb.info/app/227040/ > > *From:* Ook <[email protected]> > *To:* Half-Life dedicated Win32 server mailing list < > [email protected]> > *Sent:* Sunday, June 16, 2013 10:49 AM > *Subject:* Re: [hlds] L4D2 server compatible with L4D2 beta? > > Where did you find these appids? > > Using 227040 gives me srcds.exe, steam.dll and dedicated.dll, but alas, > you can't just drop them into an existing srcds install.
