Valve very rarely engages in discussions here. Every so often they will give a single response to a pressing issue, usually if that issue is very technical and has had some kind of statistics thrown around alongside it. But never regarding the why and why not's of community related issues or choices they make with updates/changes. The TF2 devs, unlike CSGO, are very good about announcing updates here as well as delayed updates, though. It's probably safe to say that they at least read some of the more well thought out posts here, seems very unreasonable for them to not do so considering many of the regular contributors here are fairly well mannered and detail their posts factually. Sadly, the trolls and idiots who hurl insults are the loudest, and make these mailing lists seem like a cesspool of bullshit.
