OK - so the normal Joes out there that are using either what they purchased or downloaded (ie, TFC Client) would not be able to connect to the steam servers without first using the steam client on top of their half-life/TFC install - correct? Is Valve moving toward this way of doing things and slowly get everyone off the old way of doing things? - Use steam vs. patching yourself and requiring the steam client?
