Ok - you're talking about the 'client' side of things right? They are going to start charging people to play TFC? I understand the concept of hosting providers charging for the bandwidth/space, etc - but the already released TFC? I don't think that will fly being the majority of these people are under 18 without means to 'pay-to-play' type deal. The WONID you get when you purchase half-life is understandable - unless that's what you mean... I'm kinda lost - sorry - trying to understand.
