Does here:
bash-2.05b$ tar --help |grep -- '-U'
-U, --unlink-first remove each file prior to extracting over it
bash-2.05b$ tar --version
tar (GNU tar) 1.13.25

Unfortunately also gtar doesn't supply that option. But anyhow, I tried
adding a script "tar zxvf $2" in path before, but that didn't work out
either, it forked like hell, and never ended.. Any more ideas?
