All clean servers, no modifications. HLDS: sv_maxrate 25000 sv_minrate 0 sv_maxupdaterate 100 sv_minupdaterate 20 sys_ticrate 1000
SRCDS: sv_maxrate 25000 sv_minrate 0 sv_maxupdaterate 100 sv_minupdaterate 20 fps_max 1000 I observed differently patterned FPS drop happens on both Linux and FreeBSD, confirmed which pushes it down to 50-70 FPS from the areas of 333-500 FPS . This occurs every few minutes. As the other FPS drops occur during in-game fire. So they are in fact two seperate things, disabling VAC2 doesn't change anything. And as I said, the FPS drop in Source is horribly severe (500 FPS all the way down to 50). The framerates are usually extended to a constant 500, SRCDS and HLDS, all of these issues appeared since the release of VAC2. Locking it down in Linux with the kernel hz, which it usually locks to quite well, does not solve the actual problems with registry, tested on Fedora Core, Redhat ES, CentOS. Another ordeal, the high CPU usage has appeared in HLDS, not just SRCDS, however as I said, it is less severe in HLDS. And last of all, the bandwidth usage of HLDS is almost 3x the amount of bandwidth SRCDS uses, for no apparent reason. Alfred, leaving the tickrate @ standard 33 is not doing anything for the gameplay, causes choppy gameplay to start with.
