Server software is free, or else you wouldn't have a place to play.
And if you did it would cost considerably more than it does now.
Also having many less servers to chose from.
Game server prices would go through the roof if they were to charge
for the server binaries. Less servers would be running, the quality
of said servers would go down cause they cost more to host forcing
hosts to stuff more servers on their boxes than they all ready overload
current boxes with, just to recover the cost of buying so many
intances of the game server. We're asking that valve take a little
pride in the
quality of the updates they release. I tired of people like you trying
to hold back people like us asking that valve take a little more pride
in the quality of their software instead of just releasing something
cause its good enough for now, or without even testing said code.
This is not the first time they've released an update that just crashes,
this is a reoccuring event, I'm asking that YOU sir stop bitching at
people who are asking vlave to take a little pride in what they do.

I am sick of everybody bitching about the problems that valve has with
their update. SO WHAT? They provide the server software for FREE, the
bandwidth for FREE! You cannot be asking for quality of service for
software that is provided to you for free.
If you know you might have problems with updates, dont autoupdate,
have backups, etc.
AND STOP BITCHING! I think Valve/Steam doe a GREAT JOB!

Ya know I havent said anything but ive been getting random start up crashes
on my steam client also. It works about 50% of the time fine but the other
50% I get a Microsoft error on steams startup. Its been doing this since
the update prior to this one.
Dont know if the servers problems are related to the client crash however.

Yes, I guess the millions of dollars in revenue helps them cope...

They still have not woken up and sniffed that cofee have they?
I'm just amazed at how well they deal with hostile little peckerwoods.
