Increasing the kernel refreshrate will only put more load on your
server. You will need to either decrease the number of slots you are
serving or decrease the tick/ticrates for the servers.

I agree w/ that. The question is, is there a way to reduce CPU usage
w/o affecting game play? Would a 1000 Hz kernel help here or would I
only gain a small amount of CPU back? Compared to new processors the
Opti 246s aren't the best, but they are work horses that usually do the
job. That being said, has anyone else run more then 3 32 slot DODS/DOD
servers on the same machine and if so, did they lag?
On my connection, DSL 6.0/768, I usually have less than 5 choke, but w/
a good spike I see 25+. Also, players complain that their scoreboard
ping is over 200 when all servers are full. Overall I don't think the
boxes are performing that bad seeing as their procs are both over 90%
used, but the end users have issues so I have to address them.

Looks to me from the cpu usage you're probably overloading them.

My servers lag. It doesn't get more simple than that. This has

I'm running Fedora Core 3 (2.6.12-1.1381_FC3smp #1 SMP) with my Hz set

My servers are:
Dual Opteron 246
10K HDD
2 GB RAM
100 Mbps NIC
Layered Tech and EZZI.net data centers.
The main server I'm worried about runs the following games:
2 x 32 DODS (Mani Admin Plugin v1.2BetaR,, MetaMod:Source v1.3d,
Stripper v1.1a, Valve Anti-Cheat, SteamBans SouRCe v2.4)
1 x 32 DOD (LogMod v0.8.0.0, ChickenMod v1.4, AMXMODX v1.75a, MetaMod
v1.19p28, Valve Anti-Cheat, SteamBans SeRVer v3.4)
1 x 20 Dystopia v1.1 (Valve Anti-Cheat)
For the servers I'm running:
sys_ticrates/ticrate of 66
heapsize of 131072 (256*512). I've also used 262144 (512*512).
fps_max 300
sv_maxrate 25000
sv_maxupdaterate 66
sv_minrate 500
sv_minupdaterate 10

For server mgmt I'm using TCAdmin.
I see other servers running multiple games on the same machine, but I'm
curious if my HW is the problem or if it is a config issue. Any
thoughts on what the issue might be?
Thanks,
