I think by default linux hlds might grab the first IP out of the hosts
file to use as the internal ip.  I wonder if you have 127.0.0.1 there?
 I might be totally wrong.  :)

I had the same problem re:internal IP when I set up my linux L4D
server, but I forget how I solved it.  I am not using an ip
argument...  Hmm.
