Hi all,

noticed today sometime in the morning (GMT+8) we got no traffic on the server (CentOS 6.1 64-bit).

I tried to connect and my client tells me that the server is running an older version. Hmm.

Auto updates are enabled and have been working for many months until now. I go in to investigate an try to manually do an update and get the following:

[nonpriv@tf2 ~]$ $HOME/steam -command update -game tf -dir /home/nonpriv/tf2
Checking bootstrapper version ...
removing stale semaphore last operated on by process 1940 with name 0eBlobRegistryMutex_FEAAFF87BD016DD83ACFBA63A0E8735D removing stale semaphore last operated on by process 1940 with name 0eBlobRegistrySignal_FEAAFF87BD016DD83ACFBA63A0E8735D
Segmentation fault

Deleting the ClientRegistry.blob and re-running the updates returns:

Checking bootstrapper version ...
removing stale semaphore last operated on by process 1948 with name 0eBlobRegistryMutex_FEAAFF87BD016DD83ACFBA63A0E8735D removing stale semaphore last operated on by process 1948 with name 0eBlobRegistrySignal_FEAAFF87BD016DD83ACFBA63A0E8735D
Getting version 45 of Steam HLDS Update Tool
Downloading. . . . . . . . . . . .Steam Linux Client updated, please retry the command CAsyncIOManager: 0 threads terminating. 0 reads, 0 writes, 0 deferrals.
CAsyncIOManager: 21 single object sleeps, 0 multi object sleeps
CAsyncIOManager: 0 single object alertable sleeps, 0 multi object alertable sleeps

I dutifully run the update command again and the segfault returns.

SELinux is disabled. There are not other services on this box.

I also tried disabling plugins to no avail.

Has anyone got any idea what to do next ? Is there a debug mode for the updater ? In its current state it only logs:

Fri Dec 16 17:15:01 ICT 2011:
Checking bootstrapper version ...

and then dies.
