No disprespect, but i disagree. I think theres more going on in the back end than what you think. I'm not going to name the server, but there is 1 i play on, and has that crappy motd ad in it. Even pressing the button to move on to the next window to enter the server, the youtube video will still play in the back ground till it's finished. The only think i know to do is disable the HTML in the client settings so it will not render it. Then the issue is fixed. Downside, it suxs to have to go to setting each time i join a server that has a video in it. Keep in mind, the video has to precache to play just as it does when looking at it threw IE or firefox. This precache lags players when entering the server until the video ends. Another thing that has to be considered is if the video at youtube is also under a heavy load. Have you ever gone to youtube and waited on a video to load, and have to reload it to play ?
I just hope the admin's really think about the clients, and not bogging them down as they join the server. Before anyone jumps in and says well change servers, i like the one i play on due to my ping.
