That is *the right*  thing to do with i18n too. The "view" tags for:

    ⁃    Date
    ⁃    Time
    ⁃    ActiveSupport::TimeWithZone
    ⁃    Numeric
    ⁃    boolean

use the :default format by default :-), and get correctly localized (i.e.
formatted/translated consistently with the locale).
