That is an interesting question. I would search into the activerecord
namespace for i18n. I have no idea whether it has a fallback for formats
like it has for strings.
Maybe you can define the format under:
activerecord:
models:
your_model:
<key for format>: <format>
or under some other key... if you can't you should ask for that feature in
the right activerecord user group.
