How does a person go about changing the internal clock speed? Way over my head.

DO NOT FRY YOUR CPU

OK

. . . overclocking can be done from many BIOS
it just means upping the speed of
the CPU so if it is running at 2000mz
. . . overclockers try and run it at 2500 mz
(and usually succeed - because CPU's are
designed with leeway)

However it is like over revving cars
they burn out quicker

It produces more heat in the CPU making them less reliable
(hence noisier fans - and water cooling systems - yes really
- some top end manufacturers are introducing refrigerated
CPU's that are overclocked - it is legit
- started amongst Geeks . . .

DO NOT FRY YOUR CPU

I always try and buy OLDER tried and tested equipment
even so I have problems . . .

If I was not using my computer I might overclock it - otherwise
NO WAY

If you need speed
you can get quad processor systems
and faster processors (the emphasis currently is on the
graphics card for innovation and speed)

For example for ts (doing Pov-RAY) the graphics card
takes the brunt of the work . . .
