Not much else has popped up widely yet as a "shared device that needs to be discovered". Network-attached storage held promise to be another example, until "the cloud" overtook the idea.

There are plenty of other devices that are - or soon will be - useful to discover. E.g., thermostats, car chargers, etc. - the 'smart grid' stuff.
