I suspect that the two of you may be making different assumptions. Mikael is thinking of ISP-provided CPEs (marketed as "boxes" in Europe), which are slowly becoming fairly powerful devices. Toerless is thinking of Plastic Home Routers, which have been stuck at 4MB flash and 8MB RAM for as long as anyone can remember.
