When asked to perform the Bach Cello Suites (specifically the Sarabande of
Suite V) at concert pitch, one would simply read the actual cello part up a
5th...correct? If so, which edition is best?
Does anyone know why the notes of the Dimitry Markevitch 4th edition of the
Bach Cello Suites (specifically the Sarabande of Suite V) differs so much from
the Wendell Hoss edition? And yes, I'm speaking of the version for cello, not
of the version for lute). Thanks!
