George McCracken. George was the main acoustician and designer for the King Company for many years. He was responsible for the creation of the King Fidelio and Eroica horns. Walter Lawson once told me that he believed that George was the top American horn designer. He said that he thought of George as the American Richard Merewether- the long time designer of Paxman horns. George is now retired and has a horn building shop in Virginia. He is an impeccable machinist and craftsman.
