Several years ago, an esteemed member of the NW Mahler Festival Orchestra was transferred out of town and was unable to continue ensemble playing. I wrote a series of etudes for him to play daily with a view to maintaining his chops until he could get back to Seattle for the summer festival. The exercises were largely based on problems that would come up in Mahler. The collection is titled "First Person Singular." If you want a copy, you can write to me off list.
