I listened to a live performance of this trio only once; the hornist  
was Stefan Dohr. To me it seemed immensely difficult, but while I  
admired Stefan's skills I can't say that I was so moved by the music  
itself. I suppose that such things must be studied and digested.

However I did play some Ligeti once, it was the Six Bagatelles. Though  
these are not as difficult and unpalatable as other contemporary  
music, still it holds true that one advantage of performing such  
pieces is that the general audience will hardly notice any wrong notes.
