I got just a taste of it last spring when I did a bunch of services with a
local theater company that was doing the "Assassins" by Sondheim. Each night
there were quite a number of 9 mm gunshots. The pit was set up behind stage,
and my right ear was facing the stage. I ended up playing most of the run of
the show using hunter's ear plugs in my right ear. I just could not hear well
enough to use them in both ears. Fortunately, it mostly has left. I am
experiencing a very slight ringing this evening. I really enjoy doing shows,
but if anyone calls me again for that one, I would have to decline...

I've had it for about 40+ years, first noticing it after an extended run
with Holiday on Ice. I haven't found anything that works to cure it, though
it is said that there are some herbal remedies. Most of the time I don't
even notice it. For me, it sounds like cicadas.
