Please understand that what follows is anecdotal, not the results of any scientific study of which I'm aware.
Ringing in the ears and other ear-related symptoms as well sometimes can be improved through diet. Try a few days of keeping salt to a minimum and carbohydrates low - you're trying to minimize water retention. You can also try taking a diuretic medication but this is a call for your doctor, IMHO - best to do what you can without resorting to medicine whenever possible. If you eat a lot of processed/prepared food, you usually get a lot of salt - my experience has been that if I or my wife prepare food by just making it ourselves, we can use salt liberally and still not get nearly as much. You might also try supplementing with potassium and/or eating foods known to possess diuretic properties - asparagus is a personal favorite - steam and top with butter. Try also the herb ginkgo biloba - it can be taken in doses up to 360 mg per day of the standardized extract. NB: My ENT (ear, nose and throat doctor) recommended this herb to me and it does help. I take 120 mg, twice a day. Many people find relief from getting their head upside down. If you cannot do a headstand (!), simply get down on your hands and knees and bend forward until the top of your head is on the ground - stay there for a minute or so, and try doing this at least once a day for a while. Note that you may find _how_ you get your head upside down matters - for me, leaning backwards makes things worse, but leaning forwards helps. -S- On Mon, Feb 21, 2011 at 11:38 AM, Quintet <[email protected]> wrote: > I have it too.
