I've been using a DJ90 for over a year and think that it is an
excellent value and very reliable.
I would make a custom profile for any paper you want to use
regularly, though the built-in profiles are very good. There is some
metamarism with black and white, but for color prints on gloss and
semi-gloss paper it is very impressive. The ink use is very frugal-in
fact I've printed the equivalent of over 100 16x20's and haven't had
to change any cartridge yet. Having a paper try is another big plus.
I've also never had a clog in over a year. I just print and it works.
Also, it's best to use swellable papers.

I would not generally recommend it for any matte printing. I think
the 1280 is superior in that regard in my experience, plus longevity
goes down a lot. Also, I see no real need to print with maximum
detail checked in the driver, it takes much longer.
