As a DesignJet reseller we service a lot of different HP wide-format printers and have found them to be the toughest inkjet printers out there. Some customers have had their printers for over 5 years with minimal problems. I can't say that the telephone tech support has been outstanding but it is good. HP has the largest base of wide-format printers out there so you are going to hear more about those machines being repaired than anyone else. Which printer are you evaluating? I'm researching all this and much of what I have heard is not encouraging. I've also heard about a lot more mechanical falures due do substandard parts than with Epson machines. Is that accurate? These two issues are my biggest concerns. The features I want are all there, what I worry about is durability and good tech support if I need it. john
