I have had quite a bit of experience with HP technical support. Sadly, I
have never once been impressed. I have not been impressed with the call in
technical support or our local representative. The people on the phone
aren't much help, and the rep that services HP DesignJet printers in our
region is rude and expensive. He told me once "You're going to have to let
me fix it because I'm the only one within 6 hours of here that can, you
don't have any other choices." When I asked if there was any time that he
was scheduled to come down to Pullman from Spokane to work on any other
printers for the University or any of the other large companies around here,
he said that he couldn't give out that information due to privacy reasons. I
really do like the DesignJet 500 but I can't stand HP support.

Subject: [HPDesignJet_Printers] HP Tech Support

What have you guys experienced in regard to HP tech support on large
format inkjet printers? I'm researching all this and much of what I
have heard is not encouraging. I've also heard about a lot more
mechanical falures due do substandard parts than with Epson machines.
Is that accurate? These two issues are my biggest concerns. The
features I want are all there, what I worry about is durability and
good tech support if I need it.
