So I read your comment below and decided to try it one more time and the weird thing is, it worked! Or, it appears to be working. It's actually printing now! I'm so delighted!! I can hardly wait to print something really big!
The only thing I did differently this time was to unwind a couple of feet of paper off the end of the roll, so it was just hanging loose--before feeding the paper into the printer. That way the printer wouldn't have to actually unroll any paper from the roll but would just be feeding in that unwound length of paper. I think that's what made the difference. As I'm writing this the printer finished printing and just cut the paper exactly as it should! That means I installed the roll feed kit properly too! What a relief. Thanks!
