It's both the roll feed and the printer with 3" cores that can give you 
problems. The 130nr 
and others using the same auto feed roller, will turn off the if the feed 
tension is too much. If 
the tension is too much for the pinch rollers a similar error will result and 
usually turn off the 
printer itself if it thinks there is a paper jam. 

So as other suggested, make the roll loose before starting. Never let the roll 
touch the 
housing or it will cause problems. Don't use really huge rolls if you can avoid 
it, the shorter 
rolls are better.
