OK, let's see if I can help with your questions.... 1) ZEH Raster. Is there any specific reason you want to use ZEH Raster to print? Are you using Windows NT? REason I'm asking is because it is only supported on Windows NT and UNIX. Are you able to print with the downloaded drivers? 2) Here is a link to a pdf which shows the compatibility of inks and medias for all HP DesignJets. 3) The media you mention shows up on the compatibility chart above as being supported on the 2500CP, but on another page I checked, it does not show as being supported. So I would think that something is indeed old, either the inks or the media. Does it dry if you leave it for a while or even after about a day, it still isn't dry? Have you been able to try out another SemiGloss or Satin media? As a bit of a learning exercise, I purchased an old 2500CP to print out photo's as an extension of my photography hobby. I don't know much about colour management etc but are keen to learn! The second hand plotter did not come with the HP disc(s?) and so I have downloaded drivers & profiles from HP. However, the ZEH RIP that came bundled with the origional HP disc is no longer available as a download. Does anyone still have a HP disc for this or similar age plotters the the ZEH software? Secondly, any recommendations for a semigloss 36" roll paper for this when using the dye &/or pigment UV inks? And, thirdly, are their any recommendations regarding coating prints made using dye inks? I have made some prints using a roll of HP Q1421A Universal Semigloss Photo Paper that the seller gave me, the ink doesn't seem to dry properly on it and is easily smugged. Or, do you think that the inks may be too old. I imagine that the printer has not been used for some considerable time.
