Well, where to start. Yes, I am using XP and are able to print with the drivers. I don't know anything about the RIP itself as I don't have a copy. I am assuming that it would improve the processing/print speed of the plotter and perhaps give a little bit more control than the drivers, perhaps not?? Just using the drivers itself, it does take a looong time to process ever a smallish file. If it is not supported by XP but does have some significant speed improvements, I would certainly look at setting up a stand-alone UNIX box for it to work out of. Thanks for the compatible material PDF, that paper is certainly on that list so perhaps it is related to the age of the inks. The paper itself is not that old & was never opened. The smudging occurs even after a 24hr drytime :( Looks like a new purchase is in order. Would you recommend purchasing both types of ink (the dye & the UV pigment) or just start off with the dye's?
