if you are interessted in one project a forum may be great .. many of the people here 
are working on 
many projects ..
if you send a mail i get it within seconds .. no need to go to the forum 5 times a day 
to see if 
ther are any new postings

i'm subscribed to 15+ mailing lists .. it would take hours to check 15 forums 5 times 
a day

the response time on mailing lists is much lower than on forums!!

i don't ignore the few advantages .. but you should not ignore the disadvantages!! ;-)

if you subscribe to the list all the mails are in your mailbox .. that's really easy, 
isn't it?
