I just try to follow up with some still unread messages...

did some benchmarks on the different versions of enblend. Test case is
a 12000x6000 equirectangular pano, enblend run from the command-line.
Tiger 32bit: 400 sec.
Leo_SL 32bit openML: hang
Leo_SL 64bit: 335 sec.
Leo_SL 64bit openML: 125 sec.
The 32bit openML version still has some problems; guess some pointer
arithmetic going astray in 32bit?
The step form 32 to 64 bit alone increases the speed by only 15%. It
is the openML that makes the real difference on my 4-core system.
Thanks for testing.
I'm also curious what it will do on dual-core or quad-core G5s or
dual-CPU quad-core or 8-core G5s.
Also because that's the only architecture I can't test on my Intel. The
Rosetta emulation layer only runs 32bit ppc applications.
My G5 is a single-core dual-2.3GHz-CPU PowerMac7,3 (the "Early 2005"
model), wasn't aware that there is such a wide spread of G5 flavours. I
try to test on Sunday... I never have managed to run enblend from the
command line, though. Will try nonetheless.
