I tried to do something like this many years ago of a full moon but never got the results I was after.

You are expecting a higher detail meaning resolution image so I would out put at a higher resolution upsampling each image. I don't think Enfuse is the right choice. You could use the contrast filter to use the sharpest portion of each image but I imagine every image is of the same sharpness and if it is soft it is soft all over.

I tried to use a median filter with Photoshop to take the most popular color at each pixel.
Other options are Image Stack by TawbaWare

ImageMagic might be able to do something similar.

Hi,

I am trying to figure out how to best use Hugin and enfuse for creating super-resolution images. I'd appreciate any help as the results aren't quite satisfactory yet.

Here is my current procedure:
1. Take several photos of a scene; handheld (in burst mode) is great as it provides the image-to-image variability required for the task 2. Use align_image_stack to align all images. Since all three translations and rotations can be affected between images, I am using all the options for aligning (-m -d -i -x -y -z).
3. Use enfuse, and here I have no clear idea for how to get the best results.

Any help greatly appreciated.
