I getting from this that animal fibers & fats are at least related to plant ones. Yet how delicate is each one musically? The blue jeans and the black dog hair seems really fun! What could be pink or green. Parchment is trees; paper and tissue is trees. But cotton is much softer for example and won't scratch optical glass. Sheep wool is more of animal-based. Horse hair? Maybe poodles breed for hurdy gurdys? And to call them Purdies or Hoodles. Yes, wood ash was, through most of history, used to commonly make lye water (for soap making), but tons of folk knowledge was lost to us over time. (Thanks a bunch, electric and factories.) For us more far more advanced modern humans, Lye is very extremely dangerous. Anyone who thinks otherwise, well; it just is. A safe chemical cleaner is dawn dishsoap. Fats, grease, oil, waxes, and soaps are related chemically. > work as well. My favorite is a blend of cotton and silk. Easier to put on > than silk, lasts longer than cotton and winds on tightly. > I've heard rumors that parchment (finely scraped animal skin) was once used > but I have no documentation for that.
