I apologize in advance for bringing this up, because I know it's been
discussed before, and my only excuse for not paying attention is that
I've long played in bands which regarded amplification as a sort of
disease not discussed in polite company. Now, however, I'm finding
economic advantage in playing for dances. For my viol, a Shure Beta 57a
(the old workhorse) works beautifully, but I haven't had the opportunity
to try it with my vielle. Has anyone tried this mike for this purpose,
or perhaps has another instrument mike they could recommend that might
be suitable for viol and vielle?
