Dear Doug, You are absolutely correct. Alden and I are horrible people. We are selfish and make crappy instruments. We don't know what we are doing and we have never helped anyone in the hurdy-gurdy world. We have obviously been put on this earth to make your life difficult. Your needs are certainly more important than anyone else's and we really understand that you need for us to stop everything else that we are doing and pay attention to you.
Your instrument will be ready as soon as I finish repairing the damage caused to it by exposure to very low humidity. Until then, you have available to you at our expense an instrument that is virtually identical to the one you ordered, strung precisely as you requested. As to exactly when you will receive your instrument I cannot tell you. We have among other things a funeral to attend this weekend which will interrupt our schedule yet again. As soon as I can figure out how to get those pesky relatives to die when it is convenient I will have a better idea when I will have your instrument finished. Now that we have answered your question, and admitted our faults, will you please contact us directly and stop wasting time and bandwidth for other members of this list? They are nice people and deserve to have a reasonable environment in which to discuss matters which interest and concern them.
