Sorry I didn't get around to organizing a Pennsic hg event before the
scheduling deadline this year. If someone suggests a time and place for a
gathering, my hg and I will probably attend. Also, I plan to busk as usual, so
say hi. If you want to contact me at Pennsic and don't have my cell phone
number already, email me for it.

I'll have my brand new CD of completely non-period music (sorry) for sale there.

It's not hg-specific, but a friend of mine is organizing an instrument petting
zoo this Saturday. I'm pasting the info she gave me at the end of this email. I
don't know what the link is supposed to be, but it doesn't work for me.

Hi guys,
So earlier we had a thread about different melody
instruments, how one could find a zurna, whats out there to be played
etc.  So I have it on the agenda, the middle Saturday at 4pm.
"Instrument Petting Zoo".

I'm hoping we will have people
there with a wide variety of instruments, so we can all learn more
about them, where to get them, how they sound etc. I'm cc'ing this to
other likely parties who may want to help stir up musical mischief and
who may not be lurking on the list. .

I'll be bringing my own
neys of course, the been/punji, and various little recorder things and
reeded things I have.  If you've been trying to find me with some ney
questions this might be a good time to meet up.

If you know
people that would be interested or that play some cool weird instrument
they'd be willing to bring please forward this and

The description (which I whipped off basically the last minute, and this is the
shorter version lol) is below.

---------
Have an interest in playing a musical instrument in the SCA but
aren't sure what's available, or an odd (or not so odd)
instrument you'd like to share with the class? This class is an
informal "show and tell" session of Middle Eastern, European
and other instruments that hopes to inspire would-be players
and spread enthusiasm for the less commonly played
instruments. Period and or "closer to period" instruments
particularly welcome. If you have something cool to share with
the class (whether you play it yet or not) PLEASE bring it.
Participants will share what they know about their instrument,
and possibly do a demo if comfortable. (“Petting” optional).
"The
Caravanserai" is located in Ostgardr, located on Chandlers
Road at the corner of Brewers and Chandlers
