ok, the debate on this one hasn't died yet and this mooot business i believe
is still not possible.
hhhaaaaahhhhh......hang on before you slice me.
i think most people when trying to compose their track would like to do it in
traditional drum machine style. therefore NOT in realtime but in step time.
step by step muting wherever necessary until a song has been completed but in
pattern mode (where most people reside).
as far as i'm aware, please please correct me if i'm wrong because i'd be a
very happy person if was the case case, but there is no direct mute function
for the rm1x.
as some have said there is and i've analyzed the responses, recording mutes
in realtime is somewhat defeating the object. i think most people that are
requesting the REAL mute function are thinking to compose a "song" using
numerous patterns and bar by bar sit and mute the tracks (ie. breaking down
the drums - good example).
by far an easy way to make quick songs and an irresponsible ommitance on the
part of yamaha as they got half way there with pattern chain mode.
once a machine with the power and features of the rm1x, expandability of a jv
synth, an editing screen with a key grid feature, multiple outputs, optional
monitor output then i'm selling my pc and never returning.
until then here's hoping....
ps. if you really think the rm1x has this mute function as mentioned then
write it on a wet fish and slap me in the face with it.
