Last night I tried to get some tracks written with a friend who has an
SP-808. Unfortunately, the 808 cannot receive MIDI clock, only MTC.
The RM1x cannot send MTC. Therefore the 808 had to be the Master.
The biggest problem I ran into was getting the RM1x to start in record
mode when my friend pressed Play on the 808. My sync was set to MIDI.
It seemed like sometimes I could press Play myself and get the RM1x
start, and other times only a Play message from the 808 would get the
RM1x to start.
If anyone has suggestions or comments on syncing these devices, or
simply general observations about sync, I'd really appreciate it.
