Scott,
thanks for that. I have an Awe64 Gold soundcard and am using the
joystick/midi port on that. I did pray to the midi Gods, even offered them
a large Bob Marley. My version of Cakewalk is 7. One question I have is,
does the cable labelled midi in go into the midi out on the RM1X and the
cable labelled midi out go to the midi in on the RM1X. I only ask this as
someone else I know with an RM1X found this out the hard way but I wasn't
sure if it was to do with his sound card or the yamaha. I'll have a go at
this setting tonight and let you know how I get on.
Cheers man
K.

1. What is your MIDI interface?
2. Did you pray to the MIDI gods?
3. What version of Cakewalk are you running?
Seriously though, you have to let Cake be the master. It does not support
digital audio if it is slave, because the incoming clock cannot stabilize
the
audio playback. If you got to (in version 9) Options|Project|MIDI out, you
can
make Cake send midi clock to the Rm1x. Make sure to have it send 480 ppq.
Set
the Rm1x's sync to MIDI and all should be well.
Good luck, and feel free to post questions.
Peace,
Scott
