A quick google shows that typical synths will provide a minimum release 
time that is 1 ms to 2.5 ms (typically 40 to 120 frames).  However, KF's 
20 ms suggestion sounds reasonable to me.

Since the sampler is doing this based on frames and not seconds... 
why not test with a number around 120 frames and see how it sounds.
