hyho, i can not talk so much about build-systems, but i have the same thing on my debian unstable box. scons install as root trigger a completely rebuild. although, before i have do a scons as user. i remember that ardour have the same behaviour into the past. actually on 2.0 ardour tree scons install only do a install without completely rebuild. greetings wolke
