Am Mon, 6 Jan 2014 21:42:44 +0100 schrieb wolke <[email protected]>: hi jacob, just read this http://drum-machine.com/design-decisions/ and just wondering that you remove layering and sample editor. imo, layering is one of the top feature from h2 sampler and make h2 more professional. maybe i am wrong. but i see that you completely wrong about function of sample editor. maybe this is a problem because his name. you can not edit samples with this editor. maybe a better name could be "audio ram editor". because, the sample editor can not change samples on disk or in soundlibraries. also you can not change drumkit or sound-library options with them. sample editor is only song dependent. this mean all changes are non destructive and will make if an song will loaded or will save in songfile if an song will saved to disk. nothing more nothing less. also this mean you can correct sample dynamic and so on with this editor, dependent as a song need samples. that mean you can create songs with same drumkit which can sound totally different. in past i noticed that most people don't understand what the sample editor is or how it works. i want to clarify this because this feature can not replaced by an external audio editor. and here i am al right with you. linux have really good audio editors. no need for an extra editor in a drum mashine or imo a better name "easy sampler with cool simple sequencer".
