Hi All,

I took a quick lap around Saylorville after class this morning. A Northern
Harrier cruising over the reservoir (viewed from the dam) was certainly
interesting to see and was my only bird of excitement there. Cherry Glen was
rather quiet as well, except for the hoards of Robins moving south (400+). I
also filled a giant, gaping hole in my Polk Co. list here with a group of 7
Tufted Titmice (don't worry, I laughed too). Oak Grove had a bit more activity,
particularly sparrow-wise with 10 species, including my FOS Fox and Harris's.
White-throateds were the most numerous and I encountered one young bird that
still seemed to be in very fresh juvenile plumage. Can anyone shed any light on
how long White-throats hold their juvenile plumage or even if it's possible
this bird was a late hatch somewhere?
