Saylorville still had significant open water between Sandpiper and the dam 
today. Gull viewing was pretty good with loafing flocks of big gulls at several 
access points.  Waterfowl were a bit scarce with only 9 species.  Highlights:
2 Common Loons -- Big Creek which is 100% open
60+ American White Pelicans
1500+ Common Mergansers
1 Red-breasted Merganser
3 Hooded Mergansers
2 Lesser Scaup
3 American Black Ducks
5 Thayer's Gulls -- 3 ad, 2 juv
1 Lesser Black-backed Gull -- continuing 2nd basic bird at Oak Grove
1 California Gull -- adult, presumably the same bird found Tuesday; alternating 
between Oak Grove and Cherry Glen
