I did a quick lap around Saylorville this afternoon.  Among a dozen species of 
shorebirds at Jester were American Golden and Black-bellied Plovers, 
Long-billed Dowitchers, a bunch of Sanderlings, and a Wilson's Phalarope.  Near 
the mile long bridge I encountered the largest hawk kettle I have ever seen in 
Iowa.  I counted nearly 400 Broad-winged Hawks as they circled up then streamed 
off to the south.  I was able to photograph part of this mass of birds and will 
have some shots posted to the website below shortly.
