There's a neat idea. The JES spool can handle longer than 80 characters for data sets.
I haven't tried it, but can one use the VSAM interface to the INTRDR and put in records > 80 characters? Variable-length characters? Later, Ray -----Original Message----- From: IBM Mainframe Discussion List [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Low, David Sent: Friday May 13 2005 06:58 To: [email protected] Subject: 80 byte jcl record limit Sorry if this is a stupid question... Is there, or has there been any requirement of increasing the 80 byte record limit of jcl? Reading the "PARM=" thread with interest, I can imagine having much longer jcl records would be a great thing if we suddenly have up to 65K of parm data available. Thanks.
