Dear folks; I'm using DFDSS+HSM+RMM from IBM but I know that Innovation equivalent products (FDR and FDRABR) are better - performance wise that HSM, particulary at dataset level (this information is for the performance data published by Innovation).
Sometime ago I asked if FDRABR can work in plex mode (ala HSM) where you can have Master Address Space and Promote Address Space and one will take over the other if there is a failure. I didn't receive any answer but I want to know if this is possible. Actually you can have several HSM dump tasks per dump class beside the master HSM address space. For us, the High Availability issue is becoming more important that performance, in particulary for backup process. How FDR and companion products are implemented in plex mode?. Probably Bruce Black (DASD and I/O professor) can comment about this. Offline postings are welcomed.
