I'm not expecting performance improvement in real-time CA-1, but in some 
things like STK's scratch synchronization utility, or in CA's TMSDATA 
utility, which process the entire TMC. It's not a huge performance hit for 
us now, so this is kind of rhetorical.

The only one *I* can think of was a storage abend problem with
STK EXLM which had DCB=BUFNO=255 coded.  I did report the issue
and since then STK updated their sample JCL with a note to remove
the specification if your TMS has blocked records.  I know I've
seen CA samples that had the same thing coded.  We probably
have some running but since they didn't abend they are probably
still running that way.
